DHL to Charge Up to €119.95 Monthly for Ecommerce Parcel Services

German logistics giant DHL will introduce a new monthly fee structure for online sellers starting July 1, 2025. According to international media reports, the charge will apply to customers using DHL Parcel and DHL Returns services. Notably, it will not affect users of DHL Small Parcel services.

DHL stated that this monthly fee is part of its annual pricing adjustments and is independent of the number of parcels shipped each month.

The new pricing policy was announced via DHL’s business customer portal. Feedback from sellers indicates that the fixed monthly fee will range from €7.95 to €119.95, depending on individually negotiated rate tiers between each customer and DHL. A company spokesperson explained, “These rates are determined based on the pricing agreements we have with each client.”

In parallel with the introduction of this new fee, DHL is also adjusting the unit prices for parcel shipments. The per-shipment rates are being reduced. According to DHL, the higher monthly fixed fees will be accompanied by these lower per-package rates.

The company emphasized that this new pricing model aims to lower the average cost per shipment as order volumes increase, thereby encouraging ecommerce sellers to scale up their shipping operations.

A DHL representative stated, “With the new monthly fee structure, customers will see their average parcel costs decrease as their shipping volume grows. This makes every additional shipment more valuable to businesses partnering with DHL.”

Earlier this year, DHL also announced that it would introduce significant peak season surcharges during two high-demand weeks in November and December, as part of its seasonal pricing strategy. The newly implemented monthly fee represents another key step in DHL’s efforts to optimize its business structure, stabilize revenue streams, and incentivize volume growth among its ecommerce client base.
