Amazon to Open New Delivery Station in Texas to Boost Last-Mile Efficiency

Amazon has announced plans to build a new delivery station in Belton, Texas, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its logistics network in the state. The upcoming facility will span approximately 127,000 square feet and will be located on Capitol Way, just east of Interstate 35. Currently in the early stages of development, the project is expected to break ground within the next few weeks.

This Belton distribution center will play a crucial role in Amazon's last-mile delivery strategy, serving as the final touchpoint for packages arriving from nearby fulfillment and sortation centers. From here, packages will be dispatched directly to customers, aiming to significantly improve delivery speed and service quality across Belton and surrounding areas.

According to Amazon, the new Texas facility will enable the company to provide more efficient services to local customers. While additional details of the project are yet to be revealed, Amazon has stated that updates will be shared in due course.

The city of Belton has welcomed the development, noting that the new distribution center is expected to generate employment opportunities, enhance the tax base, and upgrade local delivery services. Local officials see the project as a win-win for both the economy and residents.

Since 2010, Amazon has created over 86,000 full-time and part-time jobs in Texas and has invested more than $70 billion across the state. These investments have contributed an estimated $81 billion to Texas's economy and fueled growth in sectors such as construction, logistics, and professional services. The ripple effect has led to the creation of more than 171,000 indirect jobs statewide.

Texas is also home to more than 39,000 independent sellers on the Amazon platform—primarily small and medium-sized businesses—who play a vital role in the broader Amazon ecosystem. Their operations help drive local employment and economic activity.

The launch of this new delivery station in Belton reflects Amazon's continued investment in the Texas market and its commitment to expanding last-mile capabilities to meet growing customer demand.
