Amazon Launches New Visual Search Features for Better Shopping

Recently, according to foreign media reports, Amazon has improved the search function in its shopping app, rolling out several new features to help shoppers find products faster and more accurately.

When users search for products with visual descriptions (such as "flannel shirt") in the Amazon app, Amazon now displays descriptive image suggestions as they type. Shoppers can choose the image that best matches the product they are looking for and browse a curated selection of related items.

Additionally, users can add text to any image uploaded to Amazon Lens to refine the search further. For example, after uploading a picture of a beige three-seater sofa, users can specify the brand, color, material, or desired size. The search results will show items similar to the original image, filtered by the added text.

Other new visual search features include:

1. Users can tap “More Like This” on any product image in the search results to find similar items.

2. When searching for home goods, appliances, toys, or electronics, shoppers can watch product videos directly in the search results without needing to click on the product.

3. Users can now use a selection tool to conduct more targeted searches when they find an item of interest in an image. By uploading the image to Amazon Lens, users can circle the item they wish to search for, adjust the boundaries, or move the frame to search for other items.
