TikTok Shop Triples POP Security Deposit to $1,500

On 9 December 2025, TikTok Shop announced a major adjustment to its TikTok Shop security deposit requirements for cross-border self-operated (POP) merchants. Under the updated TikTok Shop POP policy, the security deposit for eligible accounts will be raised from US$500 to US$1,500, effectively tripling the current threshold for participation.

Starting from 15 December 2025, all new cross-border POP merchants joining TikTok Shop will be required to pay the security deposit in full at the new level of US$1,500. For TikTok Shop cross-border sellers who are already onboarded, the platform has set a deadline of 14 January 2026 to pay the remaining US$1,000 in additional deposit. Merchants that fail to complete the top-up within the specified timeframe will face operational restrictions on their stores from 15 December, which may include limitations on listing, sales activities, or other in-store functions as defined by the platform.

According to the announcement, this adjustment applies uniformly to all cross-border self-operated (POP) shops.
