Google Enhances Online Shopping with AI-Driven Personalized Homepage

On October 15, media outlets reported that Google announced the upcoming launch of a brand-new Google Shopping page. This new page will pair 45 billion product listings with the Gemini AI model to transform the online shopping experience through a personalized homepage. The updated homepage will be rolled out in the United States over the coming weeks.

The new Google Shopping feature will leverage AI technology to intelligently display the most relevant products, helping to speed up and simplify searches. For example, when a user searches for “men's winter jackets in Seattle,” the AI will first present key information to know before purchasing such jackets and recommend products that meet the user’s needs. Users will also see organized categories, making it easier to consider different types of jackets. Additionally, based on past search history and preferences, Google will add personalized product recommendations to the Google Shopping homepage.

Moreover, the search results will include dynamic filters, enabling users to focus on selecting preferred products, such as specifying a particular size or finding items available nearby. This new experience integrates Google’s virtual try-on feature, powered by generative AI and AR shopping tools, allowing users to confidently choose the right products through Google Shopping.

The updated Google Shopping page also includes several deal-finding tools, such as price comparison, price insights, and price tracking features. Users can easily browse and find the best discounts through the “Deals” link at the top of the page. Additionally, Google has added more price comparison and tracking tools and introduced a new “Deals” page showcasing the latest sales on items of interest.
