Amazon 2025 Holiday Fulfillment Fees Hold Steady

Amazon has announced that its Amazon holiday fulfillment fees for the 2025 Christmas shopping season will remain in line with last year. The FBA peak season surcharge will apply from October 15, 2025 through January 14, 2026 to address higher supply-chain operating costs driven by surging holiday orders. The surcharge applies to orders fulfilled by Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) across multiple markets, including Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Amazon stated that the surcharge will cover orders shipped through local and Pan-EU FBA networks, the European cross-border distribution network, and Remote Fulfillment orders from the UK to the EU. In Germany, the average surcharge is €0.19 per unit, excluding oversized items and low-price items. In the UK, the standard add-on is £0.10 per small parcel and £0.05 per large or oversize envelope.

In the United States, holiday fulfillment fees are tiered by product size and weight. For example, a small standard smartphone case carries an off-peak fee of $3.15, rising to $3.34 during the peak period; a T-shirt increases from $4.67 to $5.00. Dangerous goods see higher adjustments: a small standard item not exceeding 2 oz increases from $4.03 off-peak to $4.37 in peak; an oversize dangerous good over 70 lb rises from $54.81 to $59.23.

For Canada, Amazon announced that in 2025 it will introduce no new fee types and no increases to referral fees or FBA fulfillment fees. However, it will raise storage-related fees to improve storage efficiency and reduce congestion. Specific changes include increasing the FBA low-price item discount threshold from C$11 to C$14, and raising the per-unit discount from C$0.55 to C$0.80—key elements of the Canada FBA storage fee changes.

Standard-size storage fees will rise by C$4/m³ (off-peak) and C$13/m³ (peak), while non-standard-size storage fees will increase by C$3/m³ and C$8/m³, respectively. Amazon will also adjust the surcharge on inventory aged 181–270 days to encourage better inventory utilization by sellers.

According to Amazon, these adjustments aim to maintain delivery speed, expand fulfillment capacity, and meet heightened seasonal demand. By increasing the share of orders shipped directly from fulfillment centers, reducing extra handling steps, and consolidating packaging, Amazon reports lower overall operating costs, enabling it to keep the holiday surcharge at the same level as 2024.

Amazon also reminds sellers to stage inventory before October so Black Friday and Cyber Monday orders can be fulfilled on time. Cut-off dates vary by program, such as Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD) and FBA.
